Description

The air-oil separator filter is one of the important spare parts of oil-flooded screw air compressors. Its function is to separate oil from the compressed air-oil mixture after compression, reducing oil carryover in the discharged air and returning the oil to the system for continued circulation.

How the Oil Separator Works

In oil-flooded screw air compressors, oil is injected into the compression chamber to provide lubrication, cooling, and sealing between the two rotors.

After compression, the air-oil mixture is fed into the separator tank, where most of the oil is separated in a first stage. The remaining oil mist in the compressed air then passes through the oil separator element.

The filter media captures and coalesces small oil droplets into larger ones. The recovered oil is returned to the system, while the compressed air continues to the discharge line for use.
